ACCOMMODATION

Finding a wheelchair accessible home can be a challenge. PARAQUAD SA has an Accommodation Advisor who can help source and secure suitable housing to suit the needs of those who have a spinal cord injury.

The Accommodation Advisor provides information, referral and an advocacy service for people with a physical disability. Services available include:

- The opportunity to discuss accommodation needs and options
- Up to date information on sources of accommodation
- Assistance in locating accessible housing in the public, community and private sectors
- A liaison service with government services, particularly the South Australian Housing Trust
- A liaison service with estate agents and landlords with suitable accessible properties
- Representation of the accommodation needs of people with disabilities on various committees, forums and with government agencies
