The event was another magnificent success, raising in excess of $44,000 on the day thanks to the 34 teams (see the photo gallery below for the participating teams) and 20 clinic participants who showed their community spirit in the most generous of ways. The funds raised from the event will go towards PARAQUAD SA’s vital Volunteer Program.
The thirty-four teams included Tindall Gask Bentley Lawyers, Yalumba Wines, Hewitson Wines, Lion Nathan, Norwood Football Club, CMI Toyota, Police Credit Union, Coca-cola, GANT Financial Services, Knight Frank Valuations, ANZ Banking Corporation, Wallmans Lawyers, Klemich Real Estate, Barossa Vignerons (Keith Henschke, Allister Ashmead, Reid Bosward, Stephen Darius), McLaren Vale Vignerons (Jock Harvey, Matthew East, Richard Leasle, Jack Pang), T-Shirt City, Tilbrook Rasheed Chartered Accountants, Taylor Collison, Coopers Brewery, Palmer Hospitality Group, The Highway, Morphett Arms Hotel, Warradale Hotel, Macquarie Private Wealth, Irwin & McCabe Dental Group, Penrice Soda Products, Schweppes, Rosemount Wines, St Hallett Wines, Wealth By Design, Clubhouse Leaders (Pete Ormandy, Max Pedler, Tony Britten-Jones & Andrew O’Connor) and PQA / HOMECARE+ (James Kinghorn, Chris Magor, Marc Bowyer, Andrew Gay).
Over 190 guests – including PARAQUAD SA’s Patron, the Governor of South Australia – joined us for the luncheon and to hear from Dr Greg de Moore, author of Tom Wills: His Spectacular Rise and Tragic Fall. Proceeds from book sales on the day were donated to PARAQUAD SA.
Thanks to the fantastic work of Andrew Buttery, Dean Hewitson and Martin Palmer – and the generous support of over 50 Australian wine makers – the Great Aussie Wine lucky dip generated over $19,000 profit on the day alone! Please click here to see the 2013 Great Aussie Wine Lucky Dip brochure and wine suppliers.
The hole-in-one for the new $32,000 Holden Cruze Wagon thanks to Hamilton Holden and Police Credit Union failed to go off again this year. However, recognition must go to the PQA/HOMECARE team’s Marc Bowyer, who fell less than a metre short of a hole-in-one!
The silent auction was again well supported, with guest picking up some real bargains. Please click here for the list of 2013 auction items and donors.
Thanks also to the team of Volunteers who helped out, including Martyn Kinsmen and the Police Credit Union Team, and Royal Adelaide Golf Club’s friendly staff who looked after us on the day.
And finally, congratulations to the wining GANT Financial Services team – who each won a new golf bag thanks to the House of Golf!
The date for next year’s event is still to be finalised. Please check back in the coming weeks for the confirmation of the date for 2014.
More information and photos on the event will be published in the next edition of PQA News.
