VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

All PARAQUAD SA Volunteer services can be accessed for free by people who have a Physical or Neurological condition and use a wheelchair for mobility.

All Volunteers are police checked, reference checked, and receive orientation and training; this includes information about Client Confidentiality and Privacy.

Home Handy Person and Gardening Service
Volunteers provide basic home maintenance such as:

- Fixing tap washers
- Touch up painting
- Fixing shelves
- Fixing door hinges
- Basic gardening - pruning, planting and weeding

*We do not provide lawn mowing services.

The service is free, but clients must provide the parts or gardening supplies needed to complete the job.

Dog Walking
Volunteers are matched up with a client as close as possible to their home. Volunteers walk the client's dog as often as they have time.

Dog Grooming
Volunteers brush and groom the client's dog on a fortnightly or monthly basis, depending on the needs of the dog and the availability of the Volunteer.

Home Visitors/Shopping
Volunteers visit with clients, generally on a fortnightly basis. The main role of the Volunteer is to provide social support. Some of the activities that the Volunteer may do during a visit include chatting, shopping or going out for a meal or coffee.

Phone Support
Volunteers who provide this service have a disability and ring clients on a fortnightly basis for a friendly chat and informal support.
